Each day is a gift. At the Derrick Faison Foundation, we aim to make a positive difference in the lives of families by reducing the number of deaths each year from Sudden Cardiac Arrest and by empowering youth and young adults to reach their highest potential in life.
Our mission honors the life of Derrick L. Faison, and continues his advocacy and work of empowering youth and young adults to live their best lives and succeed in their academic and professional endeavors.
At the Derrick Faison Foundation, we donate and place Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at schools and public facilities, support cardiac screenings, help youth and adults become CPR/AED certified, and educate the public about Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. We also support the education and training of youth and young adults by providing scholarships to qualified students and by working with talented professionals who are committed to fostering positive learning environments for students.
In July 2004, the Derrick Faison Foundation was founded in remembrance of Derrick L. Faison. For over ten years, the Foundation has focused on donating and placing at least one AED annually at various schools and public facilities in Orange and Los Angeles counties. We support CPR/AED certification classes and CPR training in schools for students. Moreover, we focus on hosting fundraising and outreach campaigns that educate the public about heart disease and the importance of cardiac screenings. Finally, the Foundation strives to award scholarship funds to students from humble backgrounds who have the potential to be highly successfully in college or trade school and in their careers.
Derrick Faison Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
